Hi! I'm Peng

I am a photographer, web/graphic designer, and a world traveler. I am based in California, but I travel and work around the world.

For photography, my subjects are mainly landscape, nature, travel, and time-lapse. I am a Shutterstock and iStock contributor. I am a Google Trusted Photographer for VR tours. You can also find a few of my works on BBC Earth, Baidu Travel, Samsung China, and various travel sites in China.

For web design, I work primarily with Wordpress and Joomla theme development, from mockups to UX/UI design to coding. I also have extensive experiences in sales,  CRM and project management.

Born in Beijing, China, I moved to the US in 1997 and went to Indiana University Kelly School of Business to study Computer Information Systems. It was the dawn of the Internet age, website designs were functional and unsophisticated at the time. In order to improve my designs, I obtained a second degree in Fine Arts. It was during this period that I first got exposed to film photography and darkroom. Shooting on film was expensive and I was limited to the number of shots on each roll. This trained me to pause and think before each shot.

After school, my career led me to work primarily in web design and graphic design. It also gave me continued exposure to photography to incorporate into my designs.

In 2013, I decided to quit my job and travel around the world for a year. This was when I truly fell in love with photography. Nothing beats travelling to a destination in person, but with photography, I can capture some of that magic. I hope my photos can inspire people to travel more, to care about the conservation, and to learn from different cultures.

 Khumbu glacier and Nuptse.
