As I grew as a photographer, I learned to never be detered by bad weather. When I arrived at Karersee, I was disappointed that the famous peaks were shrouded in clouds. But the clouds were fast moving, and within a few minutes, those magical peaks appared in a hole in the clouds, as if sprouting out of nowhere. Another minute late, the clouds closed in again, but I was happy the clouds were there that day. I think the end result is much better than what I would have captured if the skies were blue.
Yosemite Blue Jay fire at night. Unlike other some other fires currently raging in California, this is one of the natural fires allowed to burn in Yosemite National Park. Natural burns allow the forest floor to renew itself, getting rid of decaying trees and providing nutrients and opportunities for new growth.
I invite you to join me and enjoy a calming moment at McClure meadow in the Eastern Sierra mountains of California.
