As ice began to thaw, signs of life return to the Sierra Nevada mountains in late spring.
Backpacking last weekend. A short break in the storm revealed the beautiful Eastern Sierra peaks before the clouds engulfed them again.
We almost turned around, but decided to press on in the storm, knowing these spring snow storms in the Sierra Nevada mountains usually don't last very long. Twenty minutes later, the clouds cleared and we were promptly rewarded.
